Hey everyone!

We’re going to take a little breather and stop baking for a bit. We’ve had quite a wild ride the past few months, and we can plainly see there’s a great demand for cupcakes around these parts.

Our plan has always been to open a small, out-of-the-way shop to support a local neighborhood. Something that can support us but is also really fun to run. But seeing as how the economy is taking a nosedive, that the physical demands of running a bakery can be high, and the timely arrival of several competing shops, we figure we need to take stock of our plans and regroup.

Despite all that, the one thing we regret most is leaving you, our amazing customers. The people we’ve baked for are among the nicest and most loyal folks we’ve ever had the pleasere of meeting. We’re sure going to miss you guys.

We will continue to take new orders for cupcakes through October 31st of this year (2008), but Beginning November 1st we will be on extended holiday. Orders already on our schedule for dates beyond October will still be honored, so no worries there.

As for whether we’ll be returning, stay tuned, you never know.

Sincerely,

Shannon & Ellen

We’re finally getting a chance to look at some retail space. This one in particular is just a mile or so from us, in the middle of several nice neighborhoods, and just down the street from a couple of schools, a library, a pretty popular tourist destination, and, wait for it… yes, a Starbucks.

Only one problem, no parking. Could we survive as a mainly walk-up operation? They do it in NYC don’t they? If only there was a subway stop around the corner.
